John Buxton's latest print

There's a bunch of new art scheduled to debut at the HMTA show in 2+ weeks, but we did just receive John Buxton's latest print, in advance of the show. It's "The Agile Bark Canoe", a limited edition canvas print. You see it here and can click HERE to see it on our website with all the specifics.

John will be with us April 17-19 for History Meets the Arts with his art, including several oil paintings and pencil sketches.

New release by Robert Griffing - Fragile Trust

I think it must be Spring as Griffing, John Buxton and David Wright are all issuing print releases with canoes! Here is Griffing's latest print, posted on our website, entitled "Fragile Trust". It's being released as a 20" x 14" limited edition paper print, as well as a 36" x 24" canvas. This is a March 2009 release, which we should have in stock in the next few weeks - certainly in time for the History Meets the Arts show in April when Griffing will be at the Gallery.

Hard at work

If you know our store, you know the name "Lord Nelson's" came from our black lab Nelson, not the famous admiral - not that there's anything wrong with the admiral! We've had dogs in the gallery ever since opening day in 1990. The latest two additions are (left to right) Hannah and Hoover, both Basset Hounds. They're Stephanie's dogs (she runs the James Gettys Hotel), and roam around the gallery along with Murphy, the red & white Irish Setter, and Char, the black lab. Here are Hannah and Hoover taking a break on the recliner in the office. Rough life right??

Newsletter online

I just placed our Spring 2009 newsletter on our site at http://www.lordnelsons.com/ under the "newsletter" section. You can click on that image for the 8 page pdf file. You'll find up to date information on our part of the History Meets the Arts show in Gettysburg, April 17-19. The who, what, where, when and why's of what Lord Nelson's Gallery is doing for the show! Special things this year are the House Brothers Kentucky longrilfe will be on display (a one-of-a-kind) and introducing new artist (to HMTA) Jason Tako. We also have the outdoor encampment figured on the fire hall grounds, coordinated by Village Restorations with Roland Cadle.
Again, check out the newsletter for complete information on our biggest show of the year. By the way, many of the paintings and new prints shown in the newsletter are not yet in our possession, but will be here for the show.
Questions? Give us a call or contact us via the information at the bottom of the page. Cheers!

Oh, and by the way, the photo is of some of the artists we had for the show in 2007 (left to right) Robert Griffing, John Buxton, Kyle Carroll, David Wright, Doug Hall and Wayne Hyde on the Gettysburg battlefield.
